OverviewAssociate Director - Private Client Tax (Family Business Focus) - CambridgeThis Private Client - Family Business team specialises in advising family-owned enterprises, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals on a broad range of tax matters. They go beyond compliance to provide strategic guidance on succession planning, business structuring, governance, and long-term wealth preservation. Working closely with colleagues across the firm, they deliver integrated solutions tailored to the unique needs of family-run businesses. As an Associate Director, you'll lead both compliance and advisory engagements, helping families navigate complex tax and business issues while mentoring junior team members and supporting the growth of their family business offering. Key responsibilities
Delivering high-quality advisory and planning services to family businesses and their owners. Managing a portfolio of tax compliance clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Supporting partners on bespoke projects such as succession planning, business restructures, and tax-efficient ownership models. Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients and across internal teams. Coaching junior staff and contributing to their development. Identifying new opportunities and contributing to business development initiatives.
About you
CTA qualified (preferred) or equivalent experience at Manager or Senior Manager level. Strong technical knowledge of private client and business tax matters. Proven experience delivering advisory work alongside compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for supporting family businesses and understanding their long-term goals. Experience mentoring junior staff and managing client relationships.
