Our Private Client Team works with individuals, trustees, partnerships, sole traders, and family businesses in managing their tax affairs, including compliance and advisory services. We collaborate across the firm to provide integrated services to owner-managed businesses and family offices, combining expertise in accounting, audit, and taxes.

As an Associate Director in Liverpool and Chester, you will manage and develop client relationships, lead advisory projects, and ensure high-quality service delivery. You will also oversee a team, review work, provide training, participate in workforce planning, and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture aligned with RSM values. Additionally, you will collaborate on planning projects, technical assignments, and business development opportunities.

You will make an impact by:

  1. Maintaining existing client relationships and acting as the first contact for new clients, supporting work generation with Directors and Partners.
  2. Leading advisory and technical projects.
  3. Developing new business and strengthening existing relationships with partners.
  4. Mentoring junior team members.
  5. Building relationships with other departments to identify and meet client needs.
  6. Briefing junior staff, supervising work, and providing on-the-job training.

  1. Be CTA and/or ACA qualified or have equivalent experience.
  2. Have a strong understanding of tax issues related to private clients.
  3. Have proven client handling and project management experience.
  4. Be capable of leading advisory projects and delivering high-quality reports within budget.
  5. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Have experience managing personal tax compliance and advisory projects, with confidence in relationship development.
  7. Be interested in mentoring and developing junior staff.
