This is predominantly a teaching role, with the expectation to support development of the curriculum area. An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broadstairs College for a Programme Director (aka Course Leaders) of Carpentry, Painting & Decorating.

Responsibilities

  • Teach, support and assess students' coursework.
  • Plan a highly relevant and distinctive curriculum to meet local/regional skills requirements, in liaison with the department leadership team to support outstanding progression for students.
  • Lead and coordinate the delivery team so all students receive up-to-date course information during their time at college; create course/programme activities to support student understanding of objectives, assessment schedules and requirements in line with awarding body criteria, including the course handbook.

About You

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, creative and able to plan and teach engaging and innovative lessons with strong interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress to plan interventions is a vital part of the role and ensures students develop the skills they need to succeed. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a difference to the future careers of our students, providing academic leadership and guidance in this area and managing curriculum delivery and accreditation. Teaching and vocational experience is essential and strong leadership skills are desirable.

This is an ideal opportunity for a proven teacher or lecturer to progress their career to the next stage as you will oversee the curriculum provision from the beginning, building relationships with key stakeholders as well as delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment. Teaching experience and qualified teacher status are required for this position.
