About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the EKC Sixth Form at EKC Canterbury College, part of the East Kent Colleges Group, for a Programme Director (also known as Course Leader) of A Level Maths and Physics. This role is primarily teaching-focused, with responsibilities to support curriculum development and foster a centre of excellence. The role involves teaching, supporting, and assessing students' progress and achievements.

Applicants should be qualified teachers with at least one year's teaching experience post-qualification. Candidates without these qualifications may not be considered. Experience in teaching and managing Key Stage 5 Maths and Physics qualifications is essential.

The Programme Director will plan a relevant and distinctive A level curriculum tailored to student needs, working with the department to support achievement and progression. Responsibilities include leading and coordinating the delivery team, ensuring students receive current course information, and facilitating understanding of assessment schedules and requirements in line with awarding body criteria.

Passion for student success, academic leadership, and curriculum management are essential. Experience teaching A Level Maths and/or Physics and strong management skills are desirable.
