Overview

The Project Director will lead on the multi-strand industry collaboration aimed at improving the wellbeing and working conditions of freelancers in the UK television industry.

This strategic role involves overseeing multiple workstreams, convening senior stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of outputs such as an updated Freelance Charter and a centralised Freelancer Information Hub.

The Director will also maintain project oversight, support Working Group Chairs, manage stakeholder relationships, and act as AfF’s primary spokesperson across industry forums.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the multi-strand industry collaboration to improve wellbeing and working conditions of freelancers in the UK television industry.
• Oversee multiple workstreams, convene senior stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of outputs such as an updated Freelance Charter and a centralised Freelancer Information Hub.
• Maintain project oversight, support Working Group Chairs, manage stakeholder relationships, and act as AfF’s primary spokesperson across industry forums.
• Engage in fundraising, policy engagement, and influence senior leaders to drive sector-wide change, ensuring alignment with broader workforce and industry strategies.
