An opportunity has arisen for a Quality and Food Safety Director EMEAI to provide leadership to our Oilseeds, Agricultural Services and Carbohydrate Solutions operations across EMEAI. Reporting to the VP EMEAI Operations and dotted line reporting to global VP of quality and food safety, the location is flexible and can be based in a relevant plant across the region (ideally Germany, Netherlands or UK).Your ResponsibilitiesTo set the vision, goals, and strategies for quality and food safety management and align them with the organizational strategy and culture.To lead & manage the quality and food safety team across the region on local/ADM food safety, quality and hygiene regulations, standards, guidelines and best practices.Identify and keep track of relevant food safety, hygiene and other regulatory requirements, code of practices, compliance obligations, best practices in the region and provide advice/guidance to the operations management teams.Work closely with regulatory agencies and trade organizations (such as Fediol, MVO, OVID, COCERAL, FEFAC, EFISC.GTP) representing the company to communicate and defend ADM practices, achieve solutions and best practices that are acceptable for Industry and Authorities.To lead and oversee the assessment and management of food safety impacts and risks of our operations, proposed changes and possible emergency scenarios.Support the development, implementation and improvement of the site quality management system (e.g. policies, procedures, processes) in line with regulatory requirements and identified risks.To provide people leadership across the region within Quality; motivating, coaching and mentoring the team whilst ensuing the right people resources are in place through succession planning and talent management.To play an active role and champion performance excellence (continuous improvement) and innovation of the quality systems and processes.Communicate and support implementation of KPI’s and/or quality and food- and feed-safety related goals to all stakeholders, including senior management, employees, customers, suppliers, and regulators.To be accountable for the performance and results of the quality function and report on key quality indicators and metrics.Support implementation and further improvement of certified schemes and meet customer requirements (e.g. GFSI, EFISC, Kosher, Halal).Evaluate and report quality and food/feed safety performance and results (goals, quality incidents, KPI’s, scorecards, salmonella, etc.) and implement corrective and preventive actions to further improve.Review and facilitate incident investigations, risk assessments (HACCP) and problem solving efforts.Organize, coordinate/conduct and report internal and external audits and assessments.To play a key and active role in the EMEAI Operations and Leadership teams.Align and communicate with global Quality and Food Safety team on Quality and Food Safety KPI, emerging risk, and best practices.Support global Quality and Food Safety strategies, policies, and procedure harmonizations.Your ProfileIn-depth experience in Quality management/leadership in a regional role, preferably with experience in food and feed production and in global/matrix organization.A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the fields of Food Technology, Quality Management, or another related field.Qualified internal auditor (External accreditation body)Fluent in English with a second European Language desirable.Experience/knowledge of production operations & able to understand the fundamentals of plant operations, including process flow, cost structure and basic energy and material balance.Expertise in quality and food safety management system, HACCP experience, global audit scheme (SQF, FSSC 22000 etc.), and supplier management.A good knowledge of high level operating KPIs such as OEE, yield, energy/chemical utilization, and the cost of poor quality.Able to communicate effectively across multiple functions, levels & cultures both written and verbally on plant/regional performance and improvement efforts & comfortable preparing and presenting consolidated information to an audience.Proven ability to lead & motivate a team across a region.A solid foundation in basic IT toolkits and productivity/BI software.Your Future PerspectiveChallenging tasks, short decision-making processes and a high level of personal responsibility in a modern work environment with flexible work time modelsRoom for innovative thinking and growth with the possibility to manage your own career path.A company culture which promotes continuous learning and diversity.Excellent career opportunities in a world leading nutrition company.#IncludingYouDiversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are cornerstones of ADM’s efforts to continue innovating, driving growth, and delivering outstanding performance.
