Life Sciences and Technology Risk Control Consulting Director Job SpecificationPosition SummaryThe position of Life Sciences and Technology risk control consulting director will be recognised as the most senior level, technical expert in Life Sciences and Technology risk control for CNA Hardy. The individual contributor will be responsible for the overall assessment, evaluation and delivery of risk control consulting services and technical support on the most complex risk exposures to support the Life Sciences and Technology business underwriting profit.In conjunction with senior level management, the person will work within the broadest limits of authority requiring the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination for the Life Sciences and Technology business areas. The candidate will have European Life Sciences and Technology risk control responsibility.Key ResponsibilitiesPerforms a combination of duties in accordance with the risk control departmental guidelines:Performs workplace/work site risk evaluation and consultative risk improvement services on the most complex and/or sophisticated Life Sciences and Technology accounts.Conducts loss analysis on individual accounts or designated book of business for Life Sciences and Technology to identify root cause, trends and emerging issues and develops business solutions and products to minimize exposures with corresponding training materials to educate both internal and external Life Sciences and Technology customers on the issue as necessary.Assesses the Life Sciences and Technology customer's risk control program needs and develops and executes a customized strategy and supporting implementation plan. Manages the delivery of direct evaluative and consultative services, which may include the project management of outsourced solutions.Partners with underwriting, claims and other areas to provide information for risk evaluation and assessment on the most complex and/or sophisticated Life Sciences and Technology risks.Participates with senior management in the development and implementation of risk control policy, marketing and business strategy for the Life Sciences and Technology business.Provides account coordination of risk control services for multinational insured accounts, for the Life Sciences and Technology business. This is expected to involve close collaboration with US Risk Control for Life Sciences and Technology.Identifies opportunities for and/or develops new products and services, for the Life Sciences and Technology business.Membership of the global Centres of Expertise for Life Sciences and Technology.Provides expertise in the loss control activities for Life Sciences and Technology.Maintains an up to date technical competency on Life Sciences and Technology risk control issues and regulations, industry activity and trends.Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesThe highest level of Life Sciences / Technology technical and product specific expertise, risk control evaluation and assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures.Ability and willingness to travel across our global business.Excellent communication, negotiation, marketing and presentation skills.
