Do you thrive on translating complex scientific data into strategic, compelling healthcare communications? My client is looking for a Senior Account Director to lead high-science global pharmaceutical accounts, someone who not only understands the science, but genuinely enjoys it.


The Role

As Senior Account Director, you’ll lead global, high-science accounts, in a a specialist healthcare communications agency across a range of therapy areas. You’ll guide strategic planning, build long-term client partnerships, and oversee teams that deliver data-rich, insight-driven content.

This role is perfect for someone who’s not only confident working with clinical data, regulatory content, and high-level strategy, but who also loves being in the science and shaping stories that matter.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client accounts with strategic oversight, providing guidance across planning, content, and delivery
  • Interpret complex scientific data and translate it into clear, credible, and creative communications
  • Manage large-scale, global campaigns with strong project oversight and high attention to detail
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, deepening relationships and identifying growth opportunities
  • Review and develop materials such as press releases, congress communications, Q&As, and more
  • Support and coach junior team members, contributing to a culture of growth and excellence
  • Oversee budget management, capacity planning, and resource allocation
  • Work on patient advocacy campaigns as well as crisis communications.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare PR, within an agency
  • Strong scientific acumen, whether from academic background or hands-on experience with data-led accounts
  • A passion for working on complex, science-heavy content with precision and creativity
  • Strong leadership, project management, and people development skills
  • Experience working on global campaigns and in regulated environments
  • Confident in building and sustaining client relationships and strategic conversations
