Travelfusion is a leading global flight content aggregator connecting online travel agencies, corporate booking tools, and travel platforms to hundreds of airlines worldwide through our innovative API technology. We specialise in both LCC (Low-Cost Carrier) and full-service airline connectivity, including NDC and direct API solutions, driving efficiency, choice, and revenue for our partners.
As we continue to expand our global footprint, we are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Airlines Partnership – Global Director to lead our airline commercial strategy, manage a high-performing global partnerships team and deliver sustained revenue growth.
The Role:
The Senior Airlines Partnership – Global Director will be responsible for developing, leading and executing the global airline partnership strategy, while managing and mentoring a geographically dispersed team. This role will focus on driving commercial growth, enhancing airline connectivity and fostering long-term relationships with airline executives and decision-makers. Reporting directly to the VP of Commercial and CEO, you will have visibility and influence at the highest level of the organisation, ensuring airline strategy is fully aligned with the company’s global vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute a global airline commercial strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
Lead, motivate, and manage a global airline partnerships team to deliver against KPIs and strategic goals.
Identify and prioritise strategic airline partners, including LCC, FSC, hybrid carriers, and regional airlines.
Provide strategic input to product teams on NDC adoption, API enhancements, and ancillary integration to meet airline needs.
2. Airline Relationship Management
Serve as executive sponsor for top-tier airline accounts globally.
Build strong C-level and commercial relationships with airline partners to influence distribution strategies.
Develop joint business plans, track performance, and ensure win-win commercial outcomes.
Represent the company at key industry events such as IATA, CAPA and Routes conferences.
3. Revenue & Commercial Performance
Own airline partnership P&L and deliver against revenue targets.
Monitor and analyse airline sales performance, yield and market share trends.
Work with marketing to deliver co-branded campaigns that drive incremental sales.
Identify new revenue streams, including ancillary upselling and fare family optimisation.
4. Team Management & Development
Lead a global team of airline partnership managers, regional directors, and account executives.
Set clear objectives, KPIs and performance standards for team members.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to build industry expertise and negotiation capability.
Ensure cross-team collaboration with product, operations and commercial functions.
Recruit, onboard, and retain top commercial talent in multiple geographies.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure airline integrations are optimised for speed, accuracy, and conversion.
Collaborate with OTA, TMC and reseller account teams to align supply with market demand.
Ensure airline contractual terms are met, including service levels, pricing agreements and content exclusivity clauses.
Key Requirements:
Experience & Skills:
10+ years of airline, GDS, OTA, or travel technology experience, with at least 5 years in a senior global commercial leadership role.
Proven track record in airline commercial negotiations and partnership management.
Experience managing international teams across multiple time zones and cultural backgrounds.
Deep understanding of airline distribution models, including NDC, API connectivity and ancillary retailing.
Strong global network within airline commercial, distribution and revenue management teams.
