Senior Associate Director – Town PlanningJacobs Belfast, Northern Ireland, United KingdomAt Jacobs, we are challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery, and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.ImpactAs part of 1000 Water and Environment industry experts spread across the UK and Ireland, our Town Planning Team delivers an extensive portfolio of Planning & Consents solutions and services to major infrastructure projects across multiple industries, including Construction, Water, Energy, Transportation, and Airports, ensuring that our clients’ critical projects proceed to successful Planning and Consents outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical leadership, providing subject‑matter‑expert level direction and support to facilitate successful consenting of projectsMaintain a high level and in‑depth knowledge of legislation (national and local) planning policies, including their application through infrastructure projectsScope, develop and implement appropriate consenting routesManage the preparation, quality, governance and submittal of a wide range of reports, including development plan, planning appraisals, Environmental Impact Assessment reports and appealsCoordinate and manage consent and planning applicationsDevelop and implement rigorous project‑management techniques to plan and prioritise the completion of tasks and deliverables on time and to budgetManage the growth of your team’s capability footprint and the portfolio of solutions by fostering and promoting a culture of development, support and opportunityRequirementsRecognised leader in Town Planning and ConsentsPlanning qualification (IPI or RTPI)A sound and demonstrable knowledge of Irish town planning legislation and practiceExperience of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and how it applies to major development projectsExcellent stakeholder and client management skills, able to build collaborative working relationshipsEstablished ability to identify relevant environmental, social and economic policy and legislationExperience of bidding/tendering for internal and external opportunities and strong commercial awarenessAn ability to present technical information to non‑technical audiencesBenefitsWe offer flexible working arrangements, well‑being benefits, our global giving and volunteering program, and opportunities to grow your career in a global company.
