Job Description

Within the Infrastructure Financing team in London, the selected candidate contributes to achieving the team’s business objectives by creating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders involved in infrastructure and energy sector investments. The group’s activities consist of financing major global infrastructure projects through senior or junior debt — such as highways, renewable energy projects, and social and telecommunications infrastructure.

Transactional expertise in private placements, infrastructure, or investment banking is a priority for this role. Through strong business development skills and leadership, the senior director contributes to executing high-quality transactions aligned with return and risk criteria, enhancing the performance of the investment portfolio under their responsibility, and fostering collaboration and teamwork.

What you will do

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement origination strategies to help build the portfolio;

  • Coordinate, structure, and execute transaction setup, negotiation, implementation, and monitoring in accordance with the Caisse’s standards and guidelines;

  • Conduct fundamental research and analysis of files, assess business model quality and value creation potential, and identify associated risks;

  • Work closely with analysts to guide the production of analyses based on selected investment criteria;

  • Independently lead thorough and rigorous due diligence processes, leveraging appropriate internal and/or external resources;

  • Prepare and recommend files to the Caisse’s investment and risk management committee independently, and defend recommendations before decision-making authorities;

  • Ensure the production and delivery of documentation required for investment decisions and proactive monitoring of files and the Caisse’s portfolio (tracking sheets, financial and valuation models, internal risk ratings, sector presentations, etc.) in collaboration with the team;

  • Monitor the financial performance of investments held in the portfolio;

  • Contribute to supervising and mentoring a team of analysts, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development;

  • Work cross-functionally with other Caisse teams (Infrastructure, Private Placements, Public Markets, Risk, Legal Affairs);

  • Perform any other related tasks that may be assigned.

What makes you unique

  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to close transactions;

  • Team spirit and collaboration;

  • Innovative business development mindset;

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage and motivate a team;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Autonomy and initiative;

  • Market analytical skills and high level of rigor;

  • Strategic vision.

What you bring

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in private credit and infrastructure. Candidates must demonstrate a list of completed transactions;

  • Master’s degree in finance, engineering, economics, or any other relevant field;

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;

  • Experience in negotiating and structuring private investment files;

  • Experience in team management and resource development;

  • Strong network in the business and financial intermediary sectors;

  • Proven responsibility for full transaction cycles: identification, prospecting, evaluation, execution, investment management;

  • Mastery of French and English, both spoken and written.
