The Senior Director, E-Commerce & Web Platforms is accountable for the strategy, performance, and modernization of the organization’s global web and commerce ecosystem. This role owns the vision, roadmap, and delivery for the BigCommerce storefront, enterprise Product Data Catalog, Acquia digital experience platform, and Accredible badging platform. These platforms power the organization’s revenue engine, global web presence, and digital credentialing capabilities. The Senior Director ensures they operate as scalable, secure, and high‑performing products that directly support revenue growth, global expansion, digital engagement, and customer experience objectives. This role partners closely with Marketing, Education, Membership, Institutional, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure seamless integration between content, commerce, data, and credentialing. The Senior Director is responsible for platform governance, performance optimization, vendor management, and long‑term modernization aligned to enterprise strategy. The position is based in the United Kingdom and supports global web and commerce operations. What You’ll Do
Commerce & Storefront Strategy (BigCommerce) Define and own the multiyear strategy and roadmap for the BigCommerce platform as the organization’s primary digital storefront Drive platform capabilities that support global pricing, promotions, bundling, subscriptions, taxation, and localization Optimize conversion, cart performance, checkout flows, and payment integrations
Product Data & Catalog Management
Lead strategy and governance for the enterprise Product Data Catalog as the authoritative source of product, pricing, and commercial metadata Ensure data quality, taxonomy integrity, localization readiness, and integration with commerce and marketing platforms Drive automation and workflow improvements for product launches and updates Partner with Data & Analytics to enable reporting, segmentation, and AI‑driven personalization
Digital Experience Platform (Acquia)
Own platform product strategy for Acquia, supporting global web properties and content management capabilities Drive personalization and integration between content and commerce Partner with Marketing and Digital Experience teams to improve engagement, SEO performance, and digital journey orchestration
Digital Credentialing & Badging (Accredible)
Provide product leadership for the Accredible platform to support credential issuance, verification, and lifecycle management Ensure seamless integration between education programs, certification workflows, and digital credentialing Optimize user experience for credential earners and institutional partners
Cross‑Functional Partnership
Partner with Technology and Engineering to translate product strategy into executable delivery plans Work closely with Security, Data & Analytics, Digital Experience, Education, and Institutional/B2B teams to align priorities, dependencies, and sequencing Serve as a senior liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure outcomes meet strategic and operational needs
Product Governance & Performance
Establish clear product goals, success metrics, and KPIs for IAM and BERT platforms Define and enforce standards for platform quality, reliability, security, and reuse Monitor performance, adoption, and value realization; identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop a team of platform product managers and supporting roles Coach and mentor associates; foster a strong product management discipline and growth mindset Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer‑centric decision making
Financial & Operational Stewardship
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in managing budgets, vendor relationships, and resource plans Ensure efficient use of resources while delivering high‑quality, timely outcomes
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 8–10 years of experience in product management, platform product management, or enterprise technology domains Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale, foundational platforms (e.g., IAM, data, analytics, or shared services) Strong preference for experience in technology‑enabled or education‑focused organizations Experience working in Agile and modern product delivery environments Proven ability to partner effectively with engineering, security, and business stakeholders at senior levels Strong strategic thinking and roadmap development skills
