Role: Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Decarbonisation & Energy Solutions)
Location: Didsbury, Manchester
Salary: up to £65k plus package
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality electrical designs for decarbonisation and sustainable retrofit projects. Focus on low-carbon systems such as solar PV, battery storage, LED lighting, and building power infrastructure. Provide technical leadership, design coordination, and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team.
What will you deliver:
Strong technical grounding in LV electrical design to integrate low-carbon energy solutions, such as power distribution, solar PV, battery storage, LED lighting, and smart controls for the integration of heat pumps, and other energy-efficiency measures typical of sustainable retrofit into commercial, public-sector and mixed-use buildings . Proven experience in solar PV design, including ground-mounted systems and building-integrated solutions (BIPV). Ability to integrate PV systems with electrical infrastructure and low-carbon technologies for retrofit and new-build projects. Sound understanding of mechanical building services to enable effective coordination. Competent in detailed design from RIBA Stage 2 to 5, including calculations, SLDs, schematics, schedules and technical reports.
