Overview

Real Estate Tax at S&W provides tax advisory and compliance services to UK and international property investors and developers, including funds and asset managers, REITs, overseas investors, housebuilders, owner-occupiers, landed estates, and private clients. The Real Estate Group works with colleagues across Tax, Transactions, Assurance and Advisory to deliver integrated client solutions, including tax due diligence and transactional support related to Real Estate M&A, with collaboration across the CLA Global network.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for candidates with specific experience in Real Estate and Stamp Tax who would thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial working environment. You should have excellent technical skills that you can apply in both advisory and compliance capacity, and strong client/project management skills to support senior team members with delivering advice and growing client accounts.

Responsibilities

  • You will take strategic responsibility for the Stamp Taxes practice and grow the business through leveraging internal opportunities and building external referral networks
  • Delivery of complex Stamp Taxes assignments for the firm
  • Improve technical capability for the practice as a whole
  • Establish good practices for other parts of the business, engaging with the Stamp Taxes team and building relationships with HMRC Stamp Taxes

Qualifications / Key Experience

  • Significant experience in Stamp Taxes gained from practice and/or industry
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) and/or CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA, e.g. law qualification)
  • Client-driven and commercially minded
  • Strong awareness of other key taxes, particularly for the Real Estate sector
  • Excellent project management, and ability to work with various teams
  • Demonstrable experience of managing people and clients
  • Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
