OverviewPrivate Client Services – Personal Tax – Director. Our personal tax specialists within EY Private Tax work with a wide range of individuals including chief executives, entrepreneurs, private equity and hedge fund principals, family offices and celebrities to plan and report their personal tax affairs. This includes tax return preparation, optimising wealth structuring from a global tax perspective, estate and succession planning and inheritance tax. Our client base is a mix of UK and non-UK domiciled/resident individuals.The OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY’s specialist team based in Leeds. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with our excellent existing clients, providing a great opportunity to build and expand their network and be instrumental in winning new business. We are expanding our team and are keen to speak with existing Tax Directors or experienced Senior Tax Managers who have a strong brand in the local market, a proven track record of building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and a passion for delivering exceptional client service. We are looking for the right individual to join our team and help contribute to our growth ambition at this exciting time.Your key responsibilitiesPursuit of business development opportunities identified by yourself and your network, other EY Private Tax team members, or other service lines at EY (e.g., through audit, corporate finance or wider tax relationships)Management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects for clients, ensuring technical excellence and a practical / business-driven approachProvision of development support to junior members of the team through effective supervision, coaching and mentoringContribution to people initiatives, including retaining and training our teamSignificant role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignmentsSkills and attributes for successClient-driven and strategically and commercially awareStrong tax technical skillsStrong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs for clientsNegotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challengesBusiness development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell workEffective time management, ability to remain calm under pressure to meet deadlinesExcellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oralGood knowledge of advising a range of company owners including AIM-listed, PE-backed, Family Owned and OMBTo qualify for the role you must haveACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification / or breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualificationStrong tax technical skillsBusiness development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell workExperience of coaching and developing more junior staffIdeally you’ll also haveProject management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budgetAbility to solve problems creatively and pragmaticallyWhat we look forTeam player: ability to integrate with new teams quicklyOutgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality outputExcellent communicator in range of situations both written and oralChange oriented with a flexible approachWhat working at EY offersWe offer a competitive remuneration package where you’ll be rewarded for your individual and team performance.
