Summary

The Associate Director of International Tax will play a critical role in managing the firm’s tax affairs outside the United States. This includes oversight of compliance across the UK, Europe, and other international jurisdictions, with a strong emphasis on partnership taxation and cross-border regimes. The role requires a mix of technical expertise and strategic insight, along with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the firm’s tax filings, reporting obligations, and disclosures to ensure accuracy and compliance across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Lead and develop a small international tax team, fostering growth and professional development.
  • Provide clear and authoritative guidance to senior leadership on partner-related tax issues, including allocations, distributions, and compliance considerations.
  • Partner with Finance and Legal teams to design and implement efficient international tax structures that support the firm’s strategic objectives.
  • Stay ahead of evolving global tax developments, including OECD and EU initiatives, assessing their impact on firm operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls and processes to mitigate tax risk.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience in international tax, ideally within professional services, partnerships, or private equity environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of UK and EU tax regimes, cross-border compliance, and partnership taxation, with additional global exposure welcomed.
  • Familiarity with OECD BEPS initiatives and Pillar Two implementation.
  • A proven track record of advising senior executives on complex international tax issues.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management capabilities.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, CTA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred; experience with tax technology or ERP systems advantageous.
