OverviewTechnical Director – Air QualityLocation: Manchester, UKSalary: £60,000 - £85,000A leading international consultancy is seeking a Technical Director to lead and grow their UK Air Quality team, based in Manchester. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience to take a pivotal leadership role in a forward-thinking, values-driven organisation. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who can inspire, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of air quality specialists, while also driving technical excellence and business growth. This role will involve working collaboratively across environmental and climatic disciplines to deliver innovative, high-quality outcomes on ambitious projects.ResponsibilitiesLeading and coordinating technical aspects of UK-based air quality projectsSupervising data collection, modelling, analysis, interpretation, and reportingActing as a technical liaison between project teams, clients, and regulatorsPreparing Environmental Statement (ES) chapters, technical reports, and proposalsProviding technical leadership to enhance capability and quality standardsSupporting business development initiatives and contributing to global strategyCoaching and reviewing team members to ensure strong performanceEssential requirementsDegree in a relevant science or engineering disciplineIn-depth understanding of UK air quality regulations, planning frameworks, and guidanceExpertise in dispersion modelling (e.g., ADMS-Roads, ADMS 6.0)Strong GIS skills (QGIS) and experience with analytical tools, ERP systems, and MS OfficeProfessional memberships (e.g., IES, IAQM) with evidence of working at the highest professional levelExcellent communication, leadership, and organisational skillsDesirable experiencePostgraduate qualification (Masters/PhD) in a relevant fieldKnowledge of other dispersion modelling systems (AERMOD, CALPUFF, etc.)Basic programming skills (Visual Basic, C++, Python, Linux)The packageSalary: £60,000 – £85,000 (depending on experience)Comprehensive health and wellbeing benefitsReimbursement of professional membershipsThis is a fantastic opportunity for an established technical leader to shape and grow a specialist team within a globally recognised consultancy.How to applyPlease apply now or reach out to Charlotte Lavender at Aztrum for more information #J-18808-Ljbffr
