Overview Technical Director in Civil Structural Engineering role focusing on delivering high-quality, safe projects across multiple programmes. You will lead technical delivery, act as a point of escalation for complex technical matters, and shape technical strategy for projects and bid proposals. The role involves developing and inspiring nuclear engineering capability within the practice and providing vision for innovation and knowledge advancement. You will collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions and act as a strategic partner for clients in your technical field. Responsibilities
Be accountable for technical delivery and safety, to high-quality levels across multiple projects and programmes, acting as a point of escalation for resolutions of complex technical matters. Set our technical strategic direction for projects and bid proposals, as well as acting as a subject-matter-expert. Lead an agenda of technical excellence and continuous improvement in the practice whilst being accountable for quality assurance standards in design. Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions. Accountable for quality assurance standards in design. Grow, develop and manage nuclear engineering capability within the practice. Bring pioneering innovation, contribute to advances in knowledge and understanding, and provide vision and inspiration to others. Be a strategic partner for our Clients, sought out by them as a go-to person within your technical field. Influential and esteemed leadership, internally and externally. Proven nuclear-sector leadership experience in the analysis and design of nuclear safety-related civil engineering structures. Multi-disciplinary integration and co-ordination experience and expertise. Comprehensive knowledge in design and analysis of heavy civil engineering structures, including reinforced concrete and steel with experience across all design phases and construction. Familiarity with current design standards and working practices (British Standards and American codes). Nationally or internationally recognised subject matter expertise in your discipline(s).
