Position: Finance Officer

Working Hours: 35 hours per week (8:30am-3:30pm)

Salary: Up to £38k

Your Role:

As a Finance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Trust Finance Manager with the accurate and timely processing of transactions. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing Accounts Payable: Oversee the processing of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring compliance with the Federation's Finance Manual
Payroll Processing: Collaborate with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure smooth monthly payroll routines
Budget Support: Assist department budget holders with financial management, including trips and budget setting
Financial Transactions: Handle cash and banking transactions, bank reconciliations, and BACS payments
Debt Recovery: Work with families to recover outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records for school lettings and ensure timely invoicing

What You Bring:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

Qualifications: A minimum AAT or professional accountancy qualification, along with 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics
Experience: Proven experience in budget management and reporting support
Skills: Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with a knack for processing information logically
Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using spreadsheets and Microsoft applications
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, both orally and in writing
Personal Qualities: A positive attitude, resilience, and a commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students
