UK Indirect Tax Director (maternity cover until Aug 2026)We are seeking an experienced indirect tax specialist to cover the role of UK Indirect Tax Director for a period of maternity leave until August 2026.The Tax Department at Warner Music Group is responsible for tax reporting, compliance, and advisory services worldwide. The successful candidate will lead the company on all aspects of indirect tax, reporting to the VP, Tax (UK), and will be responsible for coordinating and reviewing the preparation of UK VAT returns, including a large UK VAT group.Lead Warner Music Group on all aspects of indirect tax and report to VP, Tax (UK)Coordinate and review the preparation of all material UK VAT returns, including a large UK VAT groupSupport the UK Shared Service Centre VAT compliance team on technical VAT advisory and controversy matters, as well as advise on best practice in relation to governance and indirect tax compliance processesWork closely with Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to provide timely and informed responses to indirect tax questions in the businessSupport the broader Tax team on indirect tax awareness and collaborate with the Tax team to deliver cross-tax advice to the businessProvide technical VAT advisory support to teams managing the international finance transformation (ERP and tax engine implementation)Recommend, edit, and review contractual documentation for legal draftingEngage with advisors in various territoriesSupervise and analyze existing and proposed regulatory changes and developments related to UK and global tax, and advise on potential business impactAssist with global M&A activity, where requiredThe ideal candidate will have 10+ years of prior relevant UK tax experience, with a large public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation. They will have strong UK and international indirect tax knowledge, as well as experience with finance transformation/tax engine implementation projects.10+ years of prior relevant UK tax experience with a large public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporationStrong UK and international indirect tax knowledge and understanding of their impact on VAT compliance and reporting processesExperience with finance transformation/tax engine implementation projectsStrong Excel and Word skillsExcellent written & oral communication and experience briefing senior stakeholders on key indirect tax conceptsAnalytical experience, running information, and presenting appropriate recommendationsAbility to work collaboratively with other team members and partnersProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyWarner Music Group is committed to inclusion and diversity in all aspects of our business.
