Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Vertical Transportation Associate Director to join a global engineering consultancy in London. This is a career-defining opportunity to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of complex and high-profile vertical transportation projects across the UK.The successful candidate will lead projects encompassing lift and escalator systems from early-stage concepts through to completion, while also providing expert analysis, design input, and strategic consultancy to clients in both public and private sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage vertical transportation design and consultancy projects, including lifts, escalators, and moving walkwaysConduct detailed traffic analysis and technical assessments in line with industry standardsOversee all phases of project development, from concept design through to project close-outUndertake condition surveys, feasibility studies, and term consultancy servicesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise directly with architects, engineers, and key stakeholdersCultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering value through proactive and strategic guidanceConduct site visits and attend meetings across London, the South Coast, and occasionally further afield in the UKRequirementsDemonstrable experience in vertical transportation consultancy or engineeringProficiency in traffic simulation software and strong understanding of lift/escalator design standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports and presentationsConfident in stakeholder engagement and collaborative project deliveryProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with CAD or BIM software is a plusStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrentlyBenefitsCompetitive Salary – c. £70,000 per annumAttractive Bonus Scheme – up to 15% annuallyCar Allowance – supporting travel requirementsHybrid Working Model – flexible work-life balance after onboardingComprehensive Benefits Package – including pension, private healthcare, holiday buy scheme, and moreTechnology Package – iPhone, iPad, laptop, and full IT supportProfessional Development – access to global learning resources, mentorship, and clear pathways for career advancementGlobal Impact – work with one of the most prestigious engineering consultancies on landmark projects
