Duration: Fixed Term Contract – with option to extend by mutual consent

WM5G Limited is a fast-growing health- & care-tech solutions scale-up business on a mission to help the NHS & Local Authorities to reduce waiting lists, delivery better patient outcomes & transform productivity. We do this by working in partnership to deploy, run & operate innovative diagnosis, discharge & care solutions strongly aligned with the NHS 10-year plan & the three big shifts.
After a period of rapid solution development & successful pilots, we’re entering our next stage of growth. We’re now looking for an experienced & entrepreneurial Partnerships Director to help us engage, co-create proposals & secure new NHS & Local Authority partner commercial contracts to scale the solutions we offer – in the West Midlands as well as nationally.
WM5G Limited was formed six years ago as a leading digital connectivity, innovation, & transformation business. The company is a subsidiary of the WMCA & is governed by an independent board & subject to usual audits & company accounts.
Since then, the company has successfully led pioneering health & care technology trials – including early bowel cancer diagnosis, connected ambulances, & remote care home monitoring.
Three years ago, WM5G secured £10m of funding to scale-up remote monitoring, community diagnosis, & prevention trials into live clinical services, working in partnership with the West Midlands’ three NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to support over 5,000 citizens.
Following the success of these pilots, we’re now looking to scale the Community Diagnosis, Digital Discharge & Tech-enabled Social Care solutions that we offer working with more NHS & Local Authority partners on a commercial basis.
The OpportunityThis is a pivotal senior commercial role within our Health & Care leadership team – with regular interactions with the Health & Care Director, MD & Board. You’ll be responsible for shaping & executing our NHS sales strategy, building relationships across NHS organisations & leading introductions, pitches, proposals & negotiations to deliver ambitious revenue targets & make a transformational difference to our NHS partners.
We looking for some who combines strategic insights, hands-on selling experience & a genuine passion for transforming health & social care through technology.
The role will focus on securing high-value contracts, fostering relationships with key NHS & private sector stakeholders, & ensuring the sustainability & scalability of WM5G’s health & care services.
Key Responsibilitieso Develop & execute our national NHS sales strategy, aligned with company growth plans & NHS digital priorities;
o Build, maintain & grow trusted relationships with new senior NHS stakeholders – including CEOs, CDIOs, Clinical Directors, Commissioning Directors & others;
o Personally lead new high-value NHS sales opportunities & bids navigating multi-stakeholder decision-making & procurement frameworks to win new signed contracts;
o Build a repeatable, scalable sales process, including pipeline development, qualification frameworks, value propositions & sales enablement tools;
o Work closely with the Director of Health & Care & MD to shape go-to-market strategy & refine commercial models & pricing for NHS customers
o Recruit, coach & develop the partnerships & sales team – as the company grows
o Act as a thought leader & company ambassador at senior external meetings, events & conferences
As you’d expect for a senior partnership & sales role, the primary KPI for the role will be the total contract value (TCV) of new contracts signed versus the budget target; although there will also be other complementary objectives reflecting the above.
ExperienceEssential:
- 10+ years’ proven success selling health tech/digital solutions into the NHS, ideally in a scale-up or challenger brand environment
- Deep understanding of NHS structure, priorities, procurement processes & funding flows
- Experienced in leading contract negotiations & management of contracting processes
- A strong senior network across NHS Trusts, ICBs, PCNs & national bodies – with credibility at senior levels
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder, sales cycles from early engagement through to procurement through to contract signature
- A strategic operator who’s equally willing to roll-up sleeves & lead from the front
- Strong commercial acumen with experience shaping pricing, strategic pitches, proposals & propositions for NHS buyers
- Excellent communicator & storyteller, able to articulate complex solutions clearly & persuasively
Desirable:
- Established senior NHS network within the West Midlands
- Experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment, driving rapid commercial growth.
- Expertise developing & selling Community Diagnosis, Patient Discharge &/or Tech-enabled Care solutions
- Business development or sales qualification (e.g., CIM, APMP, or equivalent).
