OverviewAccount Director (Sports Sponsorships, Creative and Activations) – London. This is a fixed contract until April 2026 with the possibility to extend. The role is suited for an Account Director or Senior Account Manager energized by a dynamic, globally connected environment, responsible for global sponsorships and activations on a client site and within the agency team.You will be fully integrated within the client’s sports sponsorship creative and activation team, collaborating across a global portfolio including Motorsports, Football, Golf, and Cricket. You will work independently and with teams to drive brand and business objectives, delivering standout sponsorship campaigns and creative activations for multinational brands and rights holders. You’ll travel internationally to engage with the client’s sponsorship activation team and other stakeholders.Location: London. Travel frequency: international, on a regular basis.ResponsibilitiesDevelop innovative and creative activations across a global sponsorship portfolio, setting new standards for excellence and impact.Collaborate with the client’s internal departments to establish objectives, processes, and align teams around sponsorship activations and goals.Engage directly with rights holders and agency partners to deliver best-in-class activations.Champion effective communication by developing briefs and sharing project updates and results across all levels of the client’s business.Apply knowledge of sponsorship activation, bringing fresh ideas and best practices to projects and adapting to diverse sports and markets.Oversee multiple high-profile projects with attention to detail and strong organizational, time and project management skills.What You’ll Need5+ years experience within an agency, rightsholder or brand environment working across sponsorships and delivering integrated campaigns and activations.Experience in growing positive relationships with client stakeholders and internal staff, vendors and partners.Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational, time and project management skills.Exemplary verbal and written communication skills; ability to present with conviction and collaborate effectively in meetings.Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.Capability and comfort in overseeing large budgets and financial management.Capacity to quickly become knowledgeable on clients’ industry, brand and product offerings.Benefits and About UsWe’re Octagon, the global sports, entertainment, and experiential marketing arm of the Interpublic Group (IPG).
