The RoleAs an Account Director, you are running accounts autonomously, driving the overarching account strategy while making sure the team is set up for success and understands their roles and responsibilities. You’re the main client contact for more nuanced conversations related to the team and the work, and you drive the strategy and deliverables to deliver high-impact results. In addition, you are a visible and proactive networker, with a wide range of A-list journalists, influencers and luxury brands at your fingertips.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop PR campaigns, activations, partnerships, and programming that clients talk about for years to comeAct as primary client contact, providing senior-level counsel and fostering a trusted, long-term partnershipLead your team by providing clear, focused guidance and resources for day-to-day account successRepresent clients and the agency at industry events, conferences, and social gatherings to build influence and opportunitiesHelp out with any task, big or small, to showcase your leadership skills and dedication to the teamCreate big-thinking pitches that land in big features, multi-page spreads in magazines, and in meaningful, unexpected sectionsNurture your A-list media and influencer relationships and network, and draw on those as needed for key placementsManage team members, providing leadership, guidance, feedback, and coaching to both direct reports and account teamsStay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and cultural shifts in the luxury and travel marketsDrive new business opportunities: lead pitches, develop proposals, and contribute to agency growth
ExperienceAt least 7-10 years of public relations experience in the hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, restaurant, and/or consumer lifestyle arenasProven track record of leading integrated PR campaigns that achieve measurable impact.Extensive media, influencer, and brand contacts within travel, lifestyle, and luxury industries, and a reputation as a strong networker.Strong leadership and team management skillsExceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.Commercially minded, with experience in business development and client growth.
