Quotacom have an opportunity to join their client; a rapidly expanding global consulting firm at a pivotal moment of strategic growth and transformation. With a strong track record of success and ambitious plans for the future, they are seeking an AI Practice Director to lead the build-out of its UK AI business. This role will shape how leading organisations leverage AI and data to gain a competitive advantage and will have a tangible impact on both client outcomes and the company’s continued growth.

This newly created role represents a rare opportunity to join a fast-scaling consultancy at a pivotal stage of its expansion, leading the build-out of a UK AI practice that will shape how clients leverage data and AI to achieve meaningful business impact.

With a global presence across multiple continents and thousands of professionals delivering data, AI, and technology solutions, the company is significantly expanding its UK operations following a period of strategic acquisitions and rebranding. This includes a growing UK team of over 500 consultants, with more than 160 focused on Data and AI.

The Role

As AI Practice Director, you will be a key figure in the company’s new, transversal Data & AI division. Acting as a “business translator,” you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and tangible business value, developing and delivering impactful AI strategies and solutions for clients across diverse sectors. This role combines strategic consulting, commercial leadership, and practical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Building & Leadership

  • Lead the establishment and growth of the AI practice, reporting directly to UK and EMEA Data & AI leadership.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while creating reusable frameworks and go-to-market propositions.
  • Embed the UK AI practice within the broader international AI leadership team.

Commercial & Business Development

  • Drive new business growth and revenue generation with a proven track record in sales and commercial leadership.
  • Lead pre-sales activities, develop proposals, and identify new opportunities while expanding relationships with existing clients.
  • Leverage your professional network to grow market presence and oversee the full engagement lifecycle, from scoping to delivery and value realisation.

Client Advisory & Delivery

  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating client challenges into actionable AI strategies, responsible AI governance, operating models, and enterprise-scale implementation roadmaps.
  • Lead the design and oversee the successful delivery of AI solutions that demonstrate measurable business value.

AI Transformation Leadership

  • Guide clients through AI transformation journeys, demonstrating how technologies such as Generative and Agentic AI can reshape business models, drive efficiency, and create new revenue streams.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates with a proven ability to blend deep technical understanding with sharp commercial acumen and a consultative mindset.

Essential Background & Experience:

  • A strong track record in a management consulting environment is highly preferred.
  • Candidates from industry backgrounds will be considered if they can demonstrate a consulting approach (e.g. building frameworks, nurturing client accounts, driving commercial outcomes).
  • Proven success in a client-facing role with significant business development and revenue responsibility.
  • A strong professional network and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience building and scaling practices with P&L ownership and delivering against revenue and margin targets.
  • Experience mentoring and developing high-performing consulting teams.

Core AI Expertise

  • Deep understanding of AI solutions, frameworks, and security, with the ability to apply them to real business challenges.
  • Expertise in cloud data platforms and architecture (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS).
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, regulatory trends, and developments in areas such as Agentic AI.
  • Strong capability across key data domains including Data & AI Governance, Data Quality, and Data Engineering.
  • Ability to design and architect AI/data solutions linked to sector-specific business requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence — this is a business leadership role, not purely technical.

Demonstrable experience and success in one or more of the following key growth sectors:

  • Financial Services (e.g. retail banking, asset management, insurance)
  • Energy & Utilities (e.g. energy transition, hydrogen, low-carbon technologies)
  • Travel & Transport
