You will:Lead and inspire colleagues, ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.Build influence with clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities, becoming a go-to advisor for heritage consultancy.Shape our future growth by identifying opportunities, winning work, and developing innovative strategies.Deliver technical excellence through robust heritage advice, fieldwork strategies, and creative solutions tailored to client needs.Mentor and develop colleagues, strengthening the capability and reputation of the heritage team within BWB and across the industry.In short, success looks like making a measurable impact on our projects, our people, and our business.What you’ll be doing:Leading business development (internal and external) and managing key client relationships.Overseeing projects: from design and delivery to financial performance.Acting as a trusted technical guide and providing clear, consistent advice across diverse disciplines.Leading fieldwork projects, archaeological strategies, and supporting planning/consent applications.Mentoring colleagues, reviewing outputs, and supporting the professional growth of the team.Driving new opportunities and enhancing the profile of BWB’s heritage services in a diverse market.What you’ll bring:Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, cultural heritage management, architecture, heritage conservation, or a closely related field.10+ years’ consultancy experience across all aspects of heritage (archaeology and built heritage).5+ years’ fieldwork experience, including supervisory or project management roles.Proven ability in business development and client-facing consultancy.Strong track record of delivering heritage assessments, EIA contributions, and competitive tenders.Experience with archaeological sub-contractors, fieldwork monitoring, and post-fieldwork deliverables.Excellent technical writing, communication, and stakeholder liaison skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes.Resourceful, innovative, self-motivated, and willing to travel when required.Public Inquiry/appeal experience (desirable, not essential).What we offerInclusive Culture – Bring your authentic self to work every day.Competitive Rewards – Salary, 5% pension match, life assurance, and long-service recognition.Time Off & Flexibility – 25 days’ holiday (rising to 28), option to buy more, hybrid working (3 days office), and flexible core hours.Health & Wellbeing – Westfield Health, healthcare cash plan, Cycle to Work scheme, wellbeing initiatives.Growth & Development – Fully funded training, Chartership support, and paid professional subscriptions.Community & Connection – Volunteering days, social events, discounts, and savings.Accessibility & AdjustmentsWe’re proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.We want every candidate to feel comfortable and supported during the recruitment process.
