OverviewAssociate Director - Project Controls - Energy & Natural Resources role at Turner & Townsend.Turner & Townsend helps major global clients deliver ambitious, highly technical projects. Our team is dynamic and client-focused, supported by an inclusive culture that values integrity, quality, and depth of expertise.ResponsibilitiesClient facing, stakeholder engagement with key clients in Natural Resources and New Energies.Business development and growth of the Aberdeen team.Team development across planning & controls, cost management, and project management; manage growth sustainably.Lead on Aberdeen recruitment with support from the Natural Resources North senior leadership team.Proposal and bid writing/reviews.Deliver 60% to 80% of time delivering planning and project controls across major programmes; remaining time supporting development and growth of the Aberdeen team.Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team within the Natural Resources North cost centre and the wider UK programme controls function.Mentoring and coaching.Other ResponsibilitiesAs expansion plan lead: work with other cost centres, onboard new starts, build a leadership team in Aberdeen, focus on health, safety, and well-being, and foster strong team bonds, including with remote or client-based team members.On Commission: review new project proposals/remits to ensure realistic resource plans; identify resourcing requirements and liaise with client planning functions to resolve issues; provide day-to-day reporting on plans, costs, safety, environment, and programme performance; monitor data input and ensure consistency with data standards; deploy planning and controls resources effectively.QualificationsNatural Resources and New Energies focused experience.Proven business development experience.Excellent stakeholder management skills.Strong understanding of strategic resource management.Adaptability and resilience.Evidence of established management and leadership approach.Knowledge of reputational, commercial and financial risk.Strong oral and written communication.Proven PMO experience within planning and project controls, ideally with Natural Resources and New Energies focus.Proficiency with Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office; intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes.Knowledge of the Aberdeen market would be advantageous.Knowledge of digital PMOs would be advantageous.Additional InformationTurner & Townsend is an equal opportunity employer.
