Overview Associate Director - Water & Flood Risk. We are working with a leading Environmental Consultancy seeking to appoint an Associate Director into their Water Engineering team, based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step up and take on a leadership role in the delivery of major water and flood risk projects across the UK. Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of a wide variety of water and flood risk projects, from flood alleviation schemes for local authorities to surface water separation programmes with utilities. Advise housing developers and infrastructure providers on flood risk and drainage challenges. Guide projects from strategy through to delivery, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues as the team grows. Work across multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on leadership, client engagement and business development.
What we do The consultancy is active across the North of England, supporting local authorities, utility providers and developers on a broad spectrum of water-related projects. Their portfolio includes flood alleviation schemes, innovative surface water management solutions, and sustainable drainage strategies that support regional housing growth. They are contributing to high-profile programmes focused on river health and resilience, delivering long-term environmental and social benefits across the region. Qualifications and Experience
Chartered with ICE or CIWEM, educated to degree level (or equivalent). Proven experience leading flood risk or surface water projects. Comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams and in client-facing situations. Solid track record of delivering high-quality projects. Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civils 3D and Microsoft Office would be beneficial. Experience in bidding for new work is advantageous. Full UK driving licence is required; security clearance would be advantageous.
