Responsibilities As an Associate Town Planner, you will:
* Provide expert planning advice to clients across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. * Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other related documentation. * Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and planning assessments. * Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects. * Stay up-to-date with planning legislation, policies, and industry trends. * Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. * Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and attending client meetings.
Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline. * Membership or eligibility for membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). * Proven experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment. * Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy frameworks. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. * A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving. * The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Day-to-Day Your typical day as an Associate Town Planner will involve:
* Meeting with clients to discuss project requirements and provide planning advice. * Conducting site visits and preparing detailed reports. * Drafting and submitting planning applications and appeals. * Collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure project success. * Attending planning committee meetings and public consultations as required. * Keeping clients informed of project progress and addressing any concerns.
