Overview

Modirum Gespi is seeking a highly motivated Business Development executive with significant experience in the design and pursuit of tactical and strategic Drone/UAV and Command & Control Business Development opportunities. The position will be a key stakeholder in the Sales pipeline development and execution of Modirum Gespi’s technology suite which include both hardware and software. Within this position, there will be a focus on Military, Border & Maritime Security, and Emergency Services.

Position Overview: The Business Development Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the company\'s C2 systems and air-based defense products and services (SISU AI). This role provides strategic direction, drives innovation, and ensures operational excellence across the division, aligning with the company\'s goals. The executive reports to the CEO and collaborates with the executive team to execute business strategies that enhance the company\'s competitive position in global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a short and long-term strategy and business plan for the C2 and Air Systems division in alignment with the company\'s vision and mission. Lead the innovation and development of cutting-edge C2 and air defense systems. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth and market expansion.
  2. Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations of the C2 and Air Systems division, ensuring operational efficiency, quality standards, and adherence to deadlines with a primary focus on sales performance. Ensure product development meets NATO and other international defense standards. Collaborate with R&D, Operations and engineering teams to improve processes and product quality.
  3. Business Development and Market Growth: Lead sales efforts, develop a world-class sales organization, drive pipeline development and convert opportunities into long-term contracts. Establish processes to identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments to grow in C2 and air systems. Drive revenue growth and meet or exceed targets. Cultivate relationships with key accounts and government/military agencies globally. Lead international expansion and ensure solutions meet domestic and international client needs. Manage the Business Unit P&L and budget, ensuring profitability and financial targets. Oversee cost management and resource allocation; collaborate with the finance team to assess financial health and sustainability.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to national and international regulatory, legal, and ethical standards related to defense production and sales. Maintain high standards of security and confidentiality for sensitive information.
  5. Team Leadership and Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across technical, operational, and business development functions. Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Lead initiatives to attract and retain top talent in defense and aerospace.

Qualifications

  • Requires mastery level knowledge within the specific technical area and is viewed as an expert by peers inside and outside the organization.
  • Graduate Degree or a minimum of 8 years related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of international defense & security technical and mission requirements and acquisition processes.
  • In-depth understanding of the military Unmanned Autonomous Vehicle market, with strong understanding of requirements.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of current military hardware, software open architecture initiatives, and industry/technology trends in tactical missions.

  • Ability to work with customers at technical and executive levels; capable of communicating system concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with global Sales Managers, Engineering, Program Management, external customers, and internal customers across segments
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration and cross-functional leadership skills
