Job Title - Care DirectorLocation - Walsall/Aldridge (Preference will be discussed and confirmed during the interview)Contract Type - Full Time/Permanent (40hours/per week)Salary - £85,000 per annumDelphi Care Solutions Ltd is supporting one of its clients seeking an exceptional and experienced Care Director to join her senior leadership team.This pivotal role comes at a time of growth and expansion for the organisation, with the successful candidate responsible not only for overseeing our existing services but also playing a strategic role in developing and opening new provisions across the West Midlands and beyond.As Care Director, you will report directly to the Board of Directors and the Head of Safeguarding, ensuring that the organisation delivers consistently high-quality, safe, and child-centred services. You will provide professional leadership to the Registered and Home Managers, hold accountability for regulatory compliance, and drive forward a culture of excellence, safeguarding, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic DevelopmentLead and inspire Registered/Home Managers, creating a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence in careOversee the strategic planning and delivery of residential services to ensure sustainable growthSupport the design, development, and registration of new services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirementsTranslate organisational strategy into clear, measurable objectives for the care divisionAct as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisational development and long-term planningQuality & ComplianceEnsure all homes consistently achieve a minimum OfSTED rating of Good, with a clear focus on achieving OutstandingDevelop, monitor, and evaluate quality assurance frameworks and performance management systemsLead on governance, including oversight of safeguarding audits, inspections, and incident managementEnsure compliance with OfSTED, safeguarding boards, and all statutory regulationsOversee risk management strategies, ensuring proactive identification, escalation, and resolution of issuesOperational OversightSupervise and mentor Registered/Home Managers through regular supervisions, appraisals, and professional development plansLead on succession planning, talent development, and management training across the organisationEnsure effective resource allocation, budget management, and workforce planningChair key internal meetings, including safeguarding strategy discussions, service reviews, and performance boardsSupport with action plans arising from audits, inspections, and investigationsSafeguarding & GovernanceWork closely with the Head of Safeguarding to ensure children and young people are protected and that safeguarding policies are robustly implementedProvide senior oversight of investigations, complaints, and disciplinary mattersEnsure organisational learning from incidents is embedded into practice and policyRepresent the organisation at external safeguarding boards and multi-agency meetingsStakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, commissioners, and regulatorsOversee referral processes, ensuring that placement decisions are appropriate and aligned with organisational capacityAct as a key representative of the organisation at regional and national forumsPromote the organisation's values, reputation, and services across professional networksBusiness & Service DevelopmentIdentify opportunities for growth, innovation, and diversification of servicesContribute to financial planning, ensuring services are sustainable and cost-effectiveProvide strategic insight on sector trends, regulatory changes, and best practiceLead initiatives that enhance the organisation's profile and market positionRequirementsQualificationsLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent in Social Care) - Level 7 (Desirable)Evidence of continuous professional development in leadership, safeguarding, and quality managementExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience in a senior Registered Manager or Operations role within residential children's services (adult services may be considered with transferable skills)Proven track record of leading multiple services to achieve at least Good OfSTED ratingsExperience in service development, including opening new provisionsStrong knowledge of safeguarding frameworks, regulatory requirements, and quality standardsExperience of working with local authorities, commissioners, and external regulatorsSkills & AttributesStrategic thinker with strong commercial and operational acumenExceptional leadership and people management skillsAbility to analyse complex data and implement effective improvement plansExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsResilient, adaptable, and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young peopleOther RequirementsFull UK driving licence and use of own vehicleWillingness to travel across services and to external meetings #J-18808-Ljbffr
