Commercial Director (Sales), UK & Ireland - Global Benefits Management, based in London. Hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Commercial Director (Sales) for Global Benefits Management, you will be responsible for growing the business by winning new, profitable clients across the UK and Ireland. You will manage the sales cycle end-to-end, from pre-sale through presentation, close, contracting and hand-over to Client Excellence. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across Marsh McLennan (MMC) and generate leads via internal channels and distribution networks to establish win-win relationships on regional and global bases with multinational companies.

We will count on you to:

  • Build and execute a proactive sales strategy in cooperation with the UK&I Regional Commercial Leader across the UK & Ireland
  • Drive increased revenue and profitability in support of MMB’s growth targets
  • Execute sales disciplines and best practices
  • Identify external and internal referral sources and partner with champions to generate new opportunities
  • Work with global and local Client Managers, Consultants, Growth Leaders and CEOs to identify new GBM targets
  • Utilize information sources to position MMB effectively in the market
  • Lead global sales opportunities, manage virtual teams of pre-sales, consultants, client managers and senior stakeholders, balancing local autonomy with global programs
  • Participate in events and conferences that enhance MMB’s reputation and opportunities
  • Provide market feedback to leadership regarding competitor offerings and prospect needs
  • Manage the sales process and pipeline reporting in line with GBM Commercial and Sales Team protocols, supported by pre-sales and Bid Management
  • Monitor competitors and adapt MMB’s offering accordingly

What you need to have:

  • Accomplished sales director with a track record of exceeding targets
  • Proven success in a consultative sales role
  • Experience selling complex, large-value, multinational, multi-year contracts
  • Experience selling to HR or Risk & Insurance buyers
  • Strong gravitas to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in cross-cultural, cross-time zone environments with virtual teams
  • Hybrid/flexible work mindset with self-motivation and close collaboration with global teams
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a bonus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel regionally and globally
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce
