Our national Corporate Tax service line works with clients across a broad range of business types and sectors, from owner-managed businesses and middle market organisations to large multinational groups. We manage their tax affairs on the compliance side whilst also acting as expert advisors when planning matters arise. This includes, but is not limited to, due diligence, transactions, restructuring, and innovation reliefs.

Introduction about the role

As an Associate Director in our London region (London, Bromley, or Chelmsford), you will work on a varied portfolio of clients and groups, some with complex tax affairs, ensuring excellent client service and identifying further work opportunities. The role involves undertaking complex compliance work, reviewing work by junior team members, and working on advisory projects. You will also assist senior staff with business development, proposals, and networking events.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting and advising a range of interesting, fast-growing, and entrepreneurial companies, as well as larger corporates and international clients.
  2. Owning and managing a client portfolio as part of a high-performing tax team.
  3. Providing value-added technical advice relevant to clients’ businesses.
  4. Collaborating with partners and directors across service lines for business development and market outreach.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  1. ACA qualification (or equivalent).
  2. CTA qualification preferred, or proven tax advisory experience.
  3. Experience in a client-facing role.
  4. Excellent corporate tax compliance skills, including preparing and reviewing tax computations.
  5. Strong technical knowledge and experience in corporate tax.
  6. Proven advisory experience in technical matters.
  7. Experience managing a busy client portfolio.
  8. Interest and experience in business development and converting relationships into fee-paying work.
  9. Experience at Manager level or similar, demonstrating the skills for an Associate Director role.
