What We Are Looking For:We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Director of Health, Safety, and Environment to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and visitors. Your expertise in identifying and mitigating potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety will be essential to maintaining our commitment to employee well-being.Our team operates in dynamic environments, including tasks at heights, around water bodies, in traffic, and nighttime operations. We operate our own manufacturing facility onsite and support a small fleet of vehicles. This position is vital for keeping all our employees safe and ensuring public safety.Roles & Responsibilities:Own and maintain all aspects of the company's health and safety plan, including updating policies, procedures, and training materials, and uploading current policies for contracts and proposals.Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, codes, and standards across local, state, and federal levels.Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and risks.Evaluate the safety and maintenance of tools used by field staff, including budgeting for tools and safety programs.Develop relationships with vendors for optimal pricing and coverage.Support senior leadership in incident reviews and audits of safety policies and procedures.Assess workplace processes and equipment for safety concerns and update as needed.Communicate safety policies and practices effectively to staff and project managers, fostering a safety culture.Represent the organization in client meetings related to safety and other business aspects.Perform safety audits to evaluate compliance and program effectiveness, and generate reports with findings and recommendations.Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.Review and approve job hazard analyses (JHAs) prepared by site supervisors and project managers.Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.Create and manage a safety calendar with annual compliance and training milestones.Conduct safety workshops and seminars to promote best practices.Assess PPE needs, provide appropriate PPE, and ensure proper usage and maintenance.Communicate safety information through various channels.Prepare safety reports for quarterly board meetings.Act as the main point of contact for safety-related questions, investigate incidents, and develop preventive measures.Work with HR to record injuries and accidents accurately and implement corrective actions.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field.10+ years in a health and safety role, with at least 5 years in a director or managerial position.OSHA 30 certification required; additional certifications (SPRAT, CDL, MEWP) are a plus.Deep knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards.Experience with construction sites, rope access, and water-related work is advantageous.Willingness to travel as needed.Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and perform moderate physical activity.Strong analytical, communication, and software skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Benefits and Compensation:Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, based on experience.Our benefits include:Paid time off and holidays401(k) with matching contributionsComprehensive medical insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Life, AD&D, and other insurance optionsOptional dental, vision, hospital, critical illness, accident, and pet insuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)BDI is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and prohibits discrimination based on protected characteristics. #J-18808-Ljbffr
