We are seeking an exceptional Director of Science to lead our dynamic Science Faculty, build on current success, and deliver a truly world-class, engaging science curriculum.The Role:Maintain and develop broad and current knowledge of teaching and learning and disseminate this to other teachersMaintain knowledge and understanding of the academy's aims, priorities, targets and action plansMonitor and evaluate the planning of other teachers, providing regular feedbackActively monitor and respond to curriculum development and initiatives at national, regional and local levelsAnalyse and interpret relevant national, local and academy data, research and inspection evidence to inform policies, expectations and teaching methodsIdentify quantifiable and challenging student progress objectives with teachers within their performance management objectivesCreate a climate which enables staff to develop, challenge and support each otherWe are looking for a candidate who:PGCE (or equivalent) - Qualified to Teach in the UKEvidence of recent, relevant professional developmentExtensive teaching experience in secondary settingExperience and understanding of the academy/school planning, monitoring, review and evaluation processSafeguarding Commitment:We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
