Director of Quality

to lead and elevate the quality function of our dynamic, growing specialist company that designs and manufactures bespoke bodywork for commercial vehicles. This role requires natural leadership and an exceptional eye for detail. This is not a purely office-based leadership role. We want someone who thrives both at the strategy table and on the factory floor, working shoulder-to-shoulder with teams to embed a culture of quality at every stage. About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will: Lead the Quality function across the business, setting the strategy, systems, and standards.

Drive a culture of quality throughout design, production, supply chain, and aftersales.

Be hands-on — visible, accessible, and actively engaged with operations.

Oversee quality assurance, control, and compliance to meet industry regulations and customer expectations.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.

Partner with engineering, production, and commercial teams to ensure quality excellence from concept to delivery.

About You

We're looking for a proven Quality leader who is: Experienced in manufacturing quality leadership, ideally in automotive, commercial vehicles, or a closely related engineering sector.

Comfortable balancing board-level strategy with shop-floor presence.

Skilled in ISO standards, compliance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to vehicle manufacturing.

A strong communicator and influencer, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Passionate about continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams.
