OverviewDirector of Sport — Leadership Scale 8-12. Permanent, full‑time position from January 2026. This is a very exciting opportunity to join a thriving school that is rapidly becoming the 'go to' school in the locality. Our student numbers are increasing, with 320 Year 7 students arriving in September and a Sixth Form capacity of 400. The school’s size supports opportunities, innovation and a dynamic vision for growth, with a focus on investing in and developing our diverse and energised workforce.The Director of Sport will play a key role in helping to raise Cleeve School’s sporting excellence and participation levels. Cleeve already enjoys a very good reputation for its diverse sports offer, a crucial part of students’ sense of belonging, well‑being and achievement. This is a wonderful opportunity to help take us from a leading local school to one with national recognition for sport, while ensuring equity of opportunity for boys and girls and developing the sporting opportunities for our Sixth Formers, particularly within the Wednesday afternoon enrichment window.Most state schools wouldn’t have this role at this level, but we believe in going big. The Physical Education Department is a leading area within the school, with excellent facilities spread across two sites, including 20 acres of playing fields, and ambitious plans to upgrade PE facilities in the coming years. Planning permission is imminent for an AWP on our immediate field.Role and ResponsibilitiesAs well as liaising closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will take a strategic oversight of Physical Education within the School. Sport is a central feature of our school, with an emphasis on engagement and participation, as well as a commitment to achieving success in district, regional and national cups.
