OverviewPermanent, full-time position from January 2026.This is a very exciting opportunity to join a thriving school that is rapidly becoming the 'go to' school in the locality. Our student numbers are rocketing with 320 Year 7 students arriving in September and a Sixth Form capacity of 400. The Director of Sport position will play a key role in helping to take Cleeve School onto another level with regard to our sporting excellence and our focus on participation levels. Cleeve already enjoys a very good reputation with regards to our diverse sports offer which is a crucial part of students\' sense of belonging, well-being and achievement. This is a wonderful opportunity for the successful candidate to take forward their vision, taking us from a leading school locally to one with a national recognition for sport, competing with the best of the best. Equity of opportunity for boys and girls is very important to us as well as really developing the sporting opportunities for our Sixth Formers, particularly within their Wednesday afternoon enrichment window.Most state schools wouldn't have this role at this level—but we believe in going big!The Physical Education Department is a leading area within the school, producing strong outcomes. We have excellent facilities, spread across two sites, including 20 acres of playing fields, with ambitious plans to upgrade all PE facilities over the next few years. Planning permission is also imminent for an AWP-on our immediate field!As well as liaising closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will take a strategic oversight of Physical Education within the School. Sport is a central feature of our school, with an emphasis on engagement and participation, as well as an enjoyment of winning a variety of district, regional and national cups!The role is a perfect platform to develop your own career towards a Deputy Head role, and beyond. We will invest in you.ResponsibilitiesLiaise closely with the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic oversight of Physical Education across the School.Lead and develop the Physical Education Department and its processes to support sport, participation and achievement.Support the school\'s emphasis on engagement, participation and competitive success at district, regional and national levels.Contribute to developing a vision that extends the school\'s sporting reputation from a leading local school to national recognition.Promote equity of opportunity for boys and girls and develop sporting opportunities for Sixth Formers, particularly within the Wednesday afternoon enrichment window.Collaborate with stakeholders to plan improvements and investments in PE facilities and resources. #J-18808-Ljbffr
