Role Overview

Ethoca is looking for a Merchant Sales Director to grow the European merchant network and to drive the customer experience strategy forward, by consistently innovating and problem-solving.

  • Ethoca is viewed as a highly successful Mastercard acquisition. We are seeking a Merchant Sales Director for the EU region.
  • Responsible for driving the customer experience strategy forward through innovation and problem-solving.
  • The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, persistent, analytically minded, and entrepreneurial.

Responsibilities

  • Grow Ethoca’s enterprise merchant network in the European region, with a specific focus on selling Ethoca’s Consumer Clarity solution to EU-based merchants.
  • Partner with Mastercard/Ethoca account management and business development teams to identify and drive new Clarity opportunities and generate new revenue.
  • Collaborate with Ethoca Product and Technology teams to solve complex challenges and provide market feedback.
  • Coordinate with the Market Development Representative to ensure methodical prospecting within target enterprise customers (LinkedIn, phone, email, etc.).
  • Drive Europe merchant revenue and accurately input and track prospecting, lead management, and sales activity in Salesforce.
  • Represent Ethoca at industry tradeshows and networking events.

Experiences / Qualifications

  • Several years of experience selling to Tier 1 enterprise merchants.
  • Skilled at running a consultative sales process from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of the payments/fraud ecosystem and related tools for managing fraud, data, and chargebacks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate vision and roadmap to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to observe and evaluate market evolution and competitive landscape and assess impact.
  • Ambitious, driven, experienced, and commercially minded; action-oriented with strong planning, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • High emotional intelligence; customer-focused mindset that prioritizes customer needs.
  • Ability to identify gaps in resources and provide thoughtful, sustainable solutions for the team.
  • Able to explain technical problems succinctly and clearly; proactively seek solutions to problems.
