Overview

Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director role for ambitious private businesses. Self-employed within a defined model, you’ll provide CFO services to mid-sized companies typically ranging from £2–£50M turnover, helping them grow and reach their strategic goals while enjoying flexibility and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Provide CFO/FD services to client businesses, focusing on commercial finance, business strategy, and sustainable growth.
• Build and manage a portfolio of clients, supported by a network of CFOs across the world.
• Define and deliver the numbers that matter for growth, acquisitions, consolidation, and alignment with the clients’ desired lifestyle and goals.
• Develop long-lasting relationships with clients, acting as part CFO, part advisor, part strategist, and part trusted partner.
• Collaborate with regional leadership and fellow CFOs/FDs in a collegiate, values-driven environment.
• Operate within a team-based, yet autonomous framework, balancing client outcomes with the organisation’s model and standards.

What you need to have

• Qualification from one of the UK’s major chartered accounting institutes.
• Proven real-life CFO/FD experience, with strong commercial finance, business strategy, and a track record of success.
• Exceptional ability to build genuine, long-lasting client relationships and to work across multiple client engagements.
• Self-starter with ambition, energy, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Comfort with working as part of a flexible, portfolio-based model and a passion for helping business owners and executives.
