Finance Director – PE-Backed Manufacturing Business

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Our client, a well established manufacturer based in Birmingham, are hiring a commercially minded Finance Director to join their leadership team. This is a high-profile role where you’ll partner closely with the CEO and private equity investors to drive growth, performance, and value creation.

The Role

• Lead the finance function, overseeing a skilled team across financial and management accounting, FP&A, and reporting.
• Partner with the Board and investors to shape and deliver the company’s strategic growth plan.
• Provide insightful analysis to support key commercial and operational decisions.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and risk management to ensure financial robustness.
• Play a pivotal role in potential future M&A activity, investment cases, and exit planning.
• Ensure strong governance, compliance, and financial controls as the business scales.

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with proven senior finance leadership experience.
• Previous exposure to a PE-backed or highly commercial manufacturing/industrial environment.
• A strong strategic thinker who thrives in a hands-on environment and can influence at Board level.
• Commercially astute, analytical, and collaborative, with excellent stakeholder-management skills.
