The East of England Primary Care School (part of the Workforce, Training and Education Directorate of NHS England) are looking for enthusiastic and innovative educators to join the team as GP Training Programme Directors.
This particular post is advertised to support the implementation of blended learning and simulation, alongside other innovative training posts to support the expansion of placement capacity within the region. The successful applicants will work together, along with the associate Dean to achieve increased placement capacity.
The office base will be in Cambridge however, will consist of primarily working remotely, although it is important to note that travel across the region may be required.
This is a new, and exciting post that will require on the job development as we navigate the requirements of the upcoming workforce plan and the newly published 10 year plan.
TPDs are professionally and managerially accountable to the Associate Deans and Head of School for General Practice and through the Deputy Dean to the Postgraduate Dean.
Postholders will focus upon ensuring quality learning experiences for Resident Doctors in General Practice training with the region through the improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.
The post holder is a key member of the team working with Post Graduate Doctors in Training who are appointed to GP training programmes within the east of England.
The postholder will be expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and may be expected to carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

This transfer gathers valuable information from a previous or current NHS employer to support the onboarding process, including; statutory and mandatory competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement.
