Kepak is one of Europe''s leading food companies with manufacturing sites across Ireland and the UK. Kepak Foods Division has developed a portfolio of brands successful in the chilled convenience and frozen meat categories for Retail and Foodservice. We have two manufacturing sites supported by shared services, with 500 people, aiming to become a transformed, future-proofed, profitable €0.5bn Food Business by 2030.

HR Director - Kirkham (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership: Collaborate with senior leadership to craft and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals, acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers; spot emerging workforce trends and formulate proactive talent strategies; encourage leadership to adopt a people-centric approach; identify high-risk issues and partner with stakeholders to implement pragmatic solutions.
  • Leadership, Team and Project Management: Inspire and lead a dynamic HR team (4 direct reports); partner with cross-functional teams to roll out fresh HR initiatives, manage projects from start to finish, monitor milestones and risks, and continuously enhance HR programs and systems.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Collaborate with Recruitment to craft dynamic talent acquisition strategies; initiate workforce planning to address business requirements and promote internal mobility; champion diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Employee Development & Performance Management: Work with L&D to promote growth initiatives, manage performance systems to provide consistent feedback, and bridge skill gaps to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Organisational Development & Change Management: Develop OD strategies to boost efficiency; steer change management during business transformation; oversee integration of multi-site teams following mergers and acquisitions.
  • Key Deliverables: Develop and implement a People strategy for the Foods Division; establish succession planning; nurture a high-performing HR team; deliver best-in-class HR KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience operating at a senior level in a people-focused role
  • Strong background in leading management and leadership development, cultural change, and employee engagement
  • Experience delivering outcomes at both strategic and operational levels
  • Ability to lead the people strategy in M&A opportunities
  • Excellent understanding of Employment Law, HR Policy and Practice

Employment details

This is a Hybrid role, working 3 days on-site in Kirkham, with travel as required in the UK & Ireland.
