The Role

As our People and Culture Director, you’ll play a pivotal role on the Executive Leadership Team, shaping the future of our employee experience, culture, and talent strategy. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll lead a dynamic HR team and collaborate closely with the Exec Leadership team to embed a culture of inclusion, innovation, and performance. Based in Edinburgh, this role will involve travel across our UK sites. 

This is a strategic leadership role with significant influence across the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape Apex’s long-term people strategy, drive transformation, and contribute to commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a forward-thinking People and Culture strategy aligned with Apex’s business goals and growth ambitions
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organisation
  • Lead talent acquisition, development, and retention initiatives to build high-performing teams
  • Oversee employee engagement, wellbeing, and internal communications
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice
  • What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, ideally within hospitality or a customer-focused industry
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and strong commercial acumen
  • Inspirational leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Passionate about creating a positive, inclusive workplace culture that drives performance
  • Experience leading change and transformation programmes
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
