Overview

BioPhorum is hiring a Key Account Director (Remote) to build strategic sales relationships with BioPhorum’s largest accounts. The role drives commercial growth by developing and executing strategic account plans that ensure retention, expand revenue, margin, and product penetration across BioPhorum’s most valuable clients. As the primary point of contact, you will build trusted relationships that uncover new business opportunities, secure multi-year agreements, and ensure client satisfaction. You will leverage industry insights, internal data, and cross-functional collaboration to craft compelling value propositions and account strategies, ensuring resilient and ongoing engagement across client organisations. The role also contributes to evolving BioPhorum’s commercial operations, ensuring scalable processes and alignment between Key Accounts and Customer Success teams to deliver sustained commercial outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, members and customers, acting as their trusted advisor to grow account value over time.
  • Collaborate with Product and Phorum teams to develop, own and execute strategic account and growth plans for designated key accounts to achieve growth, sales targets and ongoing margin expansion.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, representing their voice internally to address feedback, concerns and issues.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing key accounts and negotiate multi-year agreements that deliver ongoing value.
  • Work with Marketing and Executive Engagement teams to develop compelling value stories tailored to key accounts.
  • Conduct periodic analyses of industry trends and insights to inform opportunities and engagement strategies for key accounts.
  • Collaborate with Business Insights, Phorum teams and Finance to monitor key account health (revenue, satisfaction, churn risks) and intervene as needed.
  • Curate contact maps within assigned key accounts with Marketing, Product and Phorum teams to ensure resilience during organizational changes.
  • Represent BioPhorum at events, conferences and symposia with impactful presentations that demonstrate value and partnership benefits.
  • Develop operational processes with the Chief Commercial Officer to support key account management and value-based selling.
  • Build and refine the integration between Key Accounts and Customer Success teams to meet commercial targets.
  • Mentor other Commercial and Phorum team members to develop future commercial leaders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven success in a key account management or relationship-based sales role.
  • Experience in a multi-product/service business.
  • Confident in engaging Executive stakeholders and selling across organizations.
  • Track record in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and/or life-sciences industries.
  • Strategic thinker who remains hands-on.
  • Clear and credible communicator; able to articulate business value and ROI to diverse audiences.
  • Strong influencer with gravitas and collaboration skills.
  • Effective networker with a collaborative style and strong working relationships.
  • Comfortable in collaborative environments, receptive to feedback and constructive change.
  • Highly commercial with ability to identify opportunities and negotiate win-win outcomes.
  • Highly numerate and data-driven; proficient with CRM and sales operations tools (e.g., Dynamics, Hubspot, Sales Navigator).
  • Desirable: understanding of biologics manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry challenges.

Location

This is a home-based role, fully remote UK-wide, with travel to participate in customer and organisational events. While BioPhorum is a UK-based business, ad hoc international travel may be required.
