Overview

Specifically, you will be accountable and responsible for taking appropriate action with respect to the Company and Global Financial Solutions (GFS) department. You will report to the Head of Global Financial Solutions Group - US, with additional reporting locally to the Head of Global Financial Solutions Group - EMEA, and international accountability to the Global Co-Heads of GSS (Virtual).

Responsibilities

1. Planning, Strategy Development and Execution – Structurer: contribute to the successful execution of GFS strategy in line with regional and international business objectives and entity requirements.
2. Ensure day-to-day activities (including those of direct reports where applicable) align to the departmental business strategy and meet/exceed official minimum financial and non-financial targets.
3. Adhere to departmental mandates and, where applicable, lead, direct and manage staff to ensure clarity of responsibilities, compliance with Firm policies and procedures, and conduct aligned with the Firm's values.
4. Manage and monitor your product portfolio; conduct business in line with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements; contribute to effective direct budget management where required; collaborate across the organisation leveraging GFS expertise internationally.
5. Risk Management: identify, monitor and take action on risks across your product/domain within delegated authority; structure transactions accurately using market-leading tools and assess holistically across your portfolio.
6. Monitor transactions to ensure alignment with the Firm's risk appetite; escalate issues related to risk management, regulatory risk, compliance and operational risk; protect and enhance the Firm's and Group's reputation.

Franchise Development (where applicable)

1. Deliver and grow a sustainable, client-focused solutions business within your product domain.
2. Maximise opportunities across the GFS platform internationally.
3. Work with other parts of the Group to promote the overall franchise and drive business growth.

Controls and Compliance

1. Ensure the Company’s compliance with internal risk and compliance requirements, controls and procedures.
2. Lead and manage staff to understand duties, comply with policies and procedures, and conduct themselves in line with the Firm's values.

People (If applicable)

1. Build and develop a team of high-quality professionals to achieve objectives of your product/domain, the business unit, and the MUFG Group (via recruitment, restructuring and internal development).
2. Ensure all staff are fully trained, with job descriptions, objectives/personal development and annual performance reviews in accordance with HR requirements; monitor competency to meet regulator training and competency regimes; handle grievances or disciplinary issues as needed.
3. Ensure delegated responsibilities, including regulatory obligations where applicable, are appropriately allocated, documented and monitored.

Relationship with other functions and stakeholders

1. Maintain and enhance relationships with stakeholders across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and develop local policies and procedures aligned with the One MUFG and Group strategy.

Qualifications

1. Managing Director, Senior Structurer, with 10+ years demonstrated experience delivering Corporate-Linked financing solutions to EMEA clients; academic qualifications and skills.
2. Master's degree or equivalent with a major in Economics, Finance, Science, Engineering or Law.
3. Strong quantitative background and financial modelling abilities.
4. Proven ability to manage multiple transactions under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing market conditions.
5. Highly organized and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
6. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
7. Solid quantitative and analytical abilities; ability to synthesise complex financial and market data.
8. Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
9. Self-motivated, proactive, commercially aware with a strong interest in capital markets and investor behaviour.
10. Familiarity with UK regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, PRA) and willingness to meet fitness and propriety standards for regulated roles.
