About The Team

Reports to: Head of Operations, dotted line to Head of Data Products (or vice versa). Partners day-to-day with LOB product & engineering leaders.

Role focus Convert business priorities into team focus and predictable delivery. Shape operating norms that are lightweight, useful, and adopted because they help teams. Build durable capability in people, practices and simple services that shorten the path from idea to impact. Operate as a trusted peer to senior leaders; create momentum with visible wins and scale through lieutenants and the Group PMO.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Strategy & team focus: turn agreed priorities into concise goals and quarterly focus, linking to customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Lifecycle management (planning & readiness): set planning horizons teams can rely on; promote early feasibility and ensure builds complete in 3–6 months.
  • Prioritisation & capacity: shape quarterly focus with senior product leaders; optimise capacity and normalise pausing or closing work when needed.
  • Decision clarity: embed simple artifacts to make options, trade-offs and ownership clear without excessive documentation.
  • Operating rhythm: maintain quarterly planning and monthly reviews; support team-owned OKRs and concise reviews that inform resourcing.
  • Portfolio visibility: maintain a neutral view of initiatives, dependencies, and capacity; use it to support timely continue/pivot/close decisions.
  • Capability & leverage: build a small senior team and scale through playbooks, coaching and PM rotations.
  • Tooling: keep JIRA and product analytics schemas lightweight and ensure reporting serves leaders and teams, not ceremony.
  • Selective executive sponsorship: provide top-cover for pivotal initiatives sparingly and purposefully.
  • Modern accelerators: pilot AI-assisted and other accelerators to compress discovery or reduce delivery overhead.

You May Be a Good Fit If

  • 15–20 years in product operations / product management / delivery leadership across multi-team, multi-site environments.
  • Track record of improving time-to-market through clear objectives, disciplined lifecycle pacing, and focused resourcing at portfolio scale.
  • Executive presence and diplomacy; credible peer to MDs and senior product leaders.
  • Deep, pragmatic command of agile/lean practices, outcome-based planning (incl. OKRs), and product analytics; adaptable to context.
  • Experience building senior lieutenants, establishing playbooks/services, and leveraging a Group PMO or equivalent.
  • (Preferred) B2B data, financial services, or enterprise platforms.

What Would Make You Successful

  • Strategy decisions and discovery packages land within the quarterly cadence; most builds complete in 3–6 months.
  • Teams carry fewer priorities; capacity focused on top outcomes.
  • Team-owned OKRs guide planning; quarterly reviews are concise and useful.
  • Light portfolio view with Group PMO supports confident continue/pivot/close calls.
  • Practices persist via lieutenants and playbooks; improvements don’t hinge on constant senior intervention.
