What Is the Opportunity?
We are looking for a Strategic Account Director to join our growing Distribution team in London. This role involves optimizing business partnerships with significant accounts across SME, Financial Lines, Middle Market, and Lloyd's. You will develop strategies, facilitate new opportunities, and support expansion into digital trading, Schemes, MGAs, and algorithmic capacity. Travelers Europe offers a hybrid work model, with employees working three days in the office and two days remotely, subject to policy changes.
What Will You Do?
- Manage relationships with large, complex accounts to build sustainable partnerships.
- Promote Travelers' propositions to influence business strategies at senior levels.
- Develop and implement comprehensive account plans to maximize business opportunities.
- Negotiate and implement new business arrangements to increase revenue and share of wallet.
- Monitor account performance and pipeline activities to meet targets.
- Lead relations management with assigned accounts and ensure effective communication.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of accounts to inform planning and management.
- Manage complaints appropriately to maintain relationship quality.
- Contribute to the development of business strategies and market propositions.
- Identify and secure new account relationships ensuring profitability and strategic alignment.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Extensive experience in the commercial insurance industry and business development.
- Understanding of Lloyd's and UK markets.
- Deep knowledge of assigned accounts, internal networks, and influencers.
- Relevant licenses or professional accreditation.
- Skills in building long-term relationships, account planning, negotiation, and data-driven decision-making.

- Strong knowledge and experience with broker distribution.
- Leading compliance and agency knowledge.
