Role OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic Commercial Director to drive growth for Merit in the UK & EU market. The role will focus on solution and consulting-led sales across our AI-powered solutions, data engineering and modernization services, and digital transformation offerings. You will engage with both enterprise information and intelligence businesses across industries as well as SME and mid-market clients looking to build software, modernize data platforms, or leverage AI to transform operations.As part of an established and experienced sales team, you will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities, shaping client conversations, and closing high-value consulting and technology services engagements.What We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will be a results-driven sales leader with a strong track record in consultative IT and data/AI services sales.You will bring:8+ years of experience selling IT services, solutions, or consulting engagements.Demonstrable expertise in solution or consulting-led selling, preferably in areas such as: AI-driven solutions (ML models, automation, intelligent data extraction, knowledge graphs, etc.) Data engineering and modernization (data migration, cloud, integration, governance, analytics platforms). Custom software development and digital transformation projects. Strong experience in responding to RFPs, shaping proposals, and collaborating with technical teams to win competitive tenders.A proven track record of independently driving new business revenue with enterprise and/or mid-market clients.Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for clients.Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Strong customer-centric mindset, with the ability to uncover client needs and create value-driven solutions.Proficiency with CRM and sales productivity tools; disciplined in pipeline and sales management.A proactive, self-starting attitude with the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
