We have exciting opportunities for Associate Directors to join our expanding team. Following significant growth and ongoing delivery success with our clients, we are looking for high-calibre leaders to support our clients in delivering a wide range of high-profile projects across Infrastructure, and to mentor and develop the future generation of Project Managers. This role is based in our London office with hybrid working patterns likely, and with projects across the South-East region. Responsibilities and expectations:
Significant experience managing multiple disciplines/teams/advisors/clients on infrastructure projects/programmes across the lifecycle; proven success and ability to challenge and set strategy. Excellent leadership skills, setting high standards and managing performance to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations; able to succeed in ambiguous and challenging environments. Lead and be accountable for health, safety and wellbeing within your sphere; practical understanding of CDM and applying it across teams. Anticipate client challenges and determine applicable solutions, innovating as necessary with a sustainable approach. Promote inclusive teamwork, building trust with empathy, and foster a ‘one business’ collaboration mindset within Turner & Townsend and with clients. Build client and industry partnerships, developing and growing relationships. Use leadership and influence to bring our purpose and vision to life and expand impact. Coach and mentor others; encourage development and nurture emerging potential. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to work with diverse personalities and build long-term trusted advisor relationships. Creative, curious, growth-minded; act as a role model and promoter of inclusive environments.
Qualifications and experience:
Experience in utilities/water infrastructure project or programme management, including end-to-end lifecycle experience or delivery-focused expertise. Experience with complex procurement and NEC/other contract types; high level of commercial management and complex commercial arrangements. Experience building and leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing contractors, consultants and other advisors across infrastructure projects and programmes in various environments; ideally across multiple sectors. Experience in consultancy and/or client-side project management. Familiarity with public sector organisations, non-departmental or arm’s length bodies relevant to infrastructure. Familiarity with sustainability and its application to projects/programmes. Experience delivering in complex operational environments; experience reporting in complex stakeholder and regulatory environments.
Degree-level qualification in a management, construction or infrastructure-related subject, or equivalent experience. Chartered status with the APM, ICE, or an equivalent professional institution. Project management certification (e.g. APM/PRINCE2/MSP/ChPP); NEC Accreditations or qualifications; CSCS or equivalent. NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualifications; CDM awareness. Sustainability knowledge (e.g., Carbon Literacy).
